Last weekend over 30 local artists and designers showed and sold their art and craft wares at the first ever ‘Faircharm Fair’. Items on display ranged from handmade clothing, jewellery, toys, decorations and homewares to original paintings, limited edition prints and pop-up cards. Visitors commented on the friendly community vibe and took full advantage of the opportunity to buy direct from the artists, snapping up pieces of craft and art at bargain prices.
Mason’s Catering kept exhibitors and visitors warm and happy in their cafe with fantastic homemade soups, rolls, cakes, coffees and mulled wine. Faircharm-based business now can’t wait for the more permanent cafe Mason’s will be opening soon on-site!

A varied selection of art and craft will be on show and for sale including paintings, drawings, prints, textiles, handmade books, corseted eveningwear, jewellery, recycled accessories and upcycled furniture. It will be a great opportunity to buy original, one-off or limited edition pieces direct from local artists and designers.
There will also be artist representatives from several arts organisations and charities including Creekside Artists and Cor Blimey Arts (artist-led cooperatives with studios based in Faircharm Trading Estate) and London Youth Support Trust (a locally based charity helping disadvantaged young people who were previously unemployed to build sustainable businesses).
FAIRCHARM FAIR is coordinated by Creekside Artists and coincides with several other events along Creekside, including Open Studios at Creekside Artists, Cor Blimey Arts and Cockpit Arts and exhibitions at Core Gallery and APT Gallery. It is also part of a wider local event titled ‘GIFTED: A weekend of art and design in Deptford.’
Drawing activities, music and a pop-up café will add to the festive atmosphere, and Creekside Artists will be serving mulled wine in their studios throughout the weekend. Admission is free and all are welcome! At the weekend, it’s possible to park within Faircharm Trading Estate but the area is also very well connected with good bus, rail and DLR transport links.
